Tree Topping Facts
The fact is: tree topping is extremely harmful to trees. It’s the process of removing the entire top or whole trunks from the tops of trees. This is not an encouraged practice and it’s the worst, most harmful form of tree pruning known. If anyone recommends this to you, we would advise you to immediately call another company.
Reasons for not topping trees
It Does Not Work: After cutting the whole top off the tree, years later, it will try growing back. If you have succeeded in topping, then this means you have killed the tree and you may as well tear it down.
Expensive Pricing: Topping needs to be performed once every few years, because naturally the tree will attempt to regrow it’s branches and limbs. Imagine having to pay a few thousand dollars every few years until the tree dies.
It’s Unsightly: Cutting the top of a tree off just looks plain ugly and unnatural. We don’t recommend it, until you see one possibly in your area, you won’t realize just how strange and bad it looks.
It’s Dangerous: Several attempts at tree topping will add rotted wood to your tree as well as the potential for it to fall. At Quality Tree Services, we only promote healthy, all natural trees. This is a hazard.
