The Benefits of Trees Part 2
On an environmental level trees are the greatest weapon we have towards fighting pollution. There is too much carbon dioxide in the atmosphere today, and trees absorb carbon dioxide. The CO2 is taken in and dispersed by trees as oxygen for us to cleanly breathe. Trees take in stenches, pollution, and dirt. These foreign matters are than trapped inside the branches, and bark of the trunk. Trees that are tactfully placed can greatly reduce the use of energy in homes, and business.
Trees also act as barriers that prevent runoff following major rainfall. The water that normally would find its way into bodies of water and contaminate other life is more likely to be absorbed by the tree and utilized inside the earth. When you add mulch to your trees the same is true however, the absorption of water is increased greatly. This also helps to fight the erosion of soil, grass, and other plant life. Fruit trees that are healthy will lend themselves to feeding birds, chipmunks, bats, squirrels, and other animals. Oddly enough psychological studies prove that access to trees increases concentration, and inspires vitality.
