Unique Tree Pruning Methods
There are four major types of tree pruning. However, we and most legitimate tree care companies only focus on three including crown raising, crown reduction and crown thinning. The bad type of tree pruning is known as topping and is not recommended under any circumstances.
Crown Raising: This involves our climbers cutting branches under the lower half of the crown in order to ease the walkway area for people traveling underneath the tree.
Crown Reduction: This is the safe alternative to topping and will help to reduce the overall height of the tree. In situations such as where branches may come in contact with power-lines, this is a vital service.
Crown Thinning: This is one of the most common methods we use and is highly beneficial to the tree is needed or performed. By cutting specific branches, it allows us to increase airflow through the crown as well as light penetration. The additional light is healthy for your lawn while creating an airstream through the center of the crown will take much stress off the overall structure.
Tree Topping: This is never recommended and involves sawing off the entire upper crown of a tree in a bid to reduce it’s height. If done properly or enough times, it will kill your tree. For free tree pruning estimates, call us at (828) 633-4357.
