Mulching uses organic and inorganic materials that are placed on the soil around the plant. Not only does mulching look nice it offers many benefits to the tree.

Mulch can be either organic and inorganic, or it can be a mix of both. Organic mulch decomposes making the soil more fertile. Organic mulches can be made up of wood chips, leaves, bark, hardwood, softwood, compost mixes, pine needles, and other organic by-products that come from plants. Whereas, inorganic mulch doesn’t decompose or break down. Materials include geo textile fabrics, various stones, lava rock, etc.
The recommended depth for mulching is 2-4 inches. Mulching looks great and helps to keep your trees and other plants healthy, so it makes sense that you would want to use it.
