Staking A Tree After Planting It
Smaller freshly planted trees usually aren’t in need of staking. However, larger as well as fruit trees will be in need in order to maintain structural integrity.
As soon as your tree is planted, we recommend staking them right away. This is necessary for the roots to establish themselves and provides a firm foundation for your tree to grow in.
Any stake you use for a larger tree should be at least 2ft tall. The methods that you use and how many largely depend on the type of tree or it’s size. There are a few different types of stakes you can use including Double Stakes, Angled Stakes and a process known as “Guying.”
