Preventing the spread of disease in trees
The most significant step to preventing disease in your trees is to remove any dead, dying, or diseased trees in your area. To clarify if your tree is diseased you may still be able to save it. By removing the dead tree, you can stop the spread the disease that plagues your property. Remember that tree removal should never be attempted unless it’s by a professional. The second preventative measure you can take is to spread fungicides in your yard. This will stop the growth of fungi which is a main inhibitor of disease. By doing this you can cut off the oak wilt and elm disease.
tTrees can also benefit from insecticides. This is because insects are a massive source for the spreading of disease. If your trees are already weak, dying, or physically damaged they are even more susceptible to the bacteria and disease carried by insects. The insecticide sprays will kill bugs, eggs, and larvae. It’s worth noting that this process should be conducted efficiently because many bugs burrow on the inside of the tree through tunnels where they may be safe from sprays. By isolating a sick tree from the rest of the ecosystem you can also help to stop the spreading of disease.
