Lightning Damaged Tree Repairs
Trees are vulnerable to lightning damage during storms. In residential areas, trees are the tallest conductors in the sky. This makes them the most obvious candidates for conductivity. most cases when hit, they are beyond saving. In some cases we can fix the situation.
When lightning hits a tree, it will immediately turn any liquid inside to gas which will cause an explosion from within. This is instantaneous.
The amount of damage you might see from a lightning strike can vary significantly. Some show no apparent damage on the outside yet the roots have been damaged beyond repair, others show bark blown off. In severe cases a tree will be shattered or or splintered down the middle.
Since all liquids are vaporized upon a lightning strike, the wisest thing to do would be to give your tree a healthy dose of water to increase it’s nutritional intake.
