Diseased Trees
Anthracnose is one of the most prevalent diseases trees face. It is found in fungi and usually spreads during the beginning of the spring, it usually won’t kill plants but it will weaken them. This disease spreads when it rains, and when your lawn is watered. Mulch is a great way to protect your trees from Anthracnose. If you find your tree is diseased you need to remove, and eliminate any leaves, limbs, or fruit that show symptoms.
Oak root fungus is another common disease for trees. Typically it kills trees by slowly breaking down there roots. By attacking the roots they are receiving all of the benefits of the trees nutrients without allowing the tree any of it. This leads to the quick death of leaves, fruit, branches, and eventually the trunk. Common symptoms of oak root fungus are yellow leaves that are withering and white tissue underneath the trees bark. Groups of tannish colored mushrooms will also grow close to the foundation of the tree.
When your tree is suffering from a disease it is highly important that precautionary measures are taken ASAP. Most diseases in trees can be cured with enough time prior to do so. This is where a professional tree service comes in.
